TOKYO -- With Japan now home to over 9 million pet cats, more Tokyo-based startups are tapping artificial intelligence and other tools to keep the country's aging felines healthy longer.

Rabo allows owners to track their cats' routine, appetite and more with its Catlog smart collar. The startup plans to add a sleep tracking feature in June, using AI to compare data collected by the collars against the medical histories of 30,000 cats and alert owners of potential issues.
