TOKYO -- The Japanese government plans to revise about 4,000 provisions of laws and regulations that are not compatible with the digital age, Nikkei has learned, in an attempt to make public works more efficient.
Regulations requiring visual inspection of dams, levees and other infrastructure will be scrapped, while drones and digital technologies will be permitted to improve productivity, government sources say.
