OSAKA -- Japanese farm machinery builder Kubota will begin manufacturing a material expected to make electric-vehicle batteries charge faster and last longer.

Kubota recently established technology to mass-produce titanium niobium oxide, an alternative to graphite as an anode material in lithium-ion batteries.
