SEOUL -- LG Electronics, Samsung Electronics and other South Korean tech companies are vying for a slice of the fast-growing educational technology market, leveraging the country's push for artificial intelligence in the classroom and seeking opportunities abroad.

LG has installed "future classrooms" in schools at 18 locations across South Korea since 2023, featuring digital whiteboards linked to its AI-equipped CLOi robots. One such robot could recently be seen rolling around an elementary school classroom near Seoul, answering student questions about what to do on summer break and playing music by Beethoven on request.
