TOKYO -- The operator of popular chat app Line on Monday said it has called for a review of its capital ties to its top shareholders as the company comes under pressure from its Japanese regulator to improve security governance after a series of personal data leaks.

LY Corp., which also runs internet portal Yahoo Japan, gave no indication of the progress on that request in its report on steps to prevent a recurrence of the privacy breaches.
