JAKARTA -- Microsoft will invest $1.7 billion in new cloud and artificial intelligence infrastructure in Indonesia, Satya Nadella said as the chief of the U.S. tech giant began a tour of Southeast Asia on Tuesday.

Nadella said previously announced data centers under Microsoft's Azure cloud computing platform "are coming to Indonesia soon," adding to Azure's over 300 data centers and more than 60 regions around the world.
