TOKYO -- Tokyo-based startup Sakana AI said it will revise its recent announcement that it could significantly accelerate artificial intelligence training, after online engineers pointed out that its results were flawed.

Sakana followed its original announcement on Thursday with a statement on Friday saying it will revise its paper and update its results, without going into detail about what that update might look like. The Japanese company had said it had found a way to accelerate AI training and deployment by up to 100 times through auto-generating and optimizing code used to control Nvidia's graphic processing units.
