SEOUL -- Samsung Electronics' biggest union has called on its members to join a one-day walkout next week, but both the labor group and the company say the move will have only a limited impact on production and supply at the world's biggest memory chip maker.

The National Samsung Electronics Union said on Wednesday that its first direction to its 28,000 members is to take a day off on June 7 to show their solidarity against the management over pay demands. NSEU said its members work in a wide range of divisions at the company, including memory and foundry semiconductor factories.
