SEOUL -- Samsung Electronics said Chinese artificial intelligence challenger DeepSeek presents a "short-term risk" but vowed to cope with the rapidly changing AI landscape.

"We expect long-term opportunity and short-term risk to coexist in the market, even though it's early to judge with limited information," Kim Jae-june, the head of Samsung's memory business, said in a conference call on Friday when asked about DeepSeek's impact on the sector.
