TOKYO/WASHINGTON -- SoftBank Group CEO Masayoshi Son on Monday pledged to invest a total of $100 billion in the U.S. over the next four years at a meeting with American President-elect Donald Trump.

The investments will create at least 100,000 U.S. jobs, Trump said, adding that the investment is "a monumental demonstration of confidence in America's future," and that it will help ensure that artificial intelligence and other future industries will be built, created and grown in the U.S.
