TOKYO -- Toyota Motor is turning to immersive content in hopes of drawing more consumers to motor sports, with a planetarium-style system that projects a racing video inside a dome-shaped tent.

The Japanese automaker has joined forces with Tokyo-based immersive-content developer T&S to create "Dive into Racing," which uses the ceiling of the 14-meter-wide, 8.2-meter-high tent to convey the excitement of the sports. This debuted in mid-November at an endurance race in Shizuoka prefecture.
