Touted inaugural chief Ishikura steps down after less than a year

TOKYO -- Takashi Asanuma has been named chief officer of the Japanese government's Digital Agency, replacing Yoko Ishikura, the agency announced on Tuesday.

Ishikura, a professor emeritus at Hitotsubashi University and the agency's highly touted inaugural chief, stepped down after less than a year.
