Apple asks Foxconn to produce servers in Taiwan in AI push

But Nvidia demand could limit Taiwanese supplier's capacity, sources say

TAIPEI -- Apple has approached Foxconn about building artificial intelligence servers in Taiwan as the iPhone maker looks to accelerate its computing ability and capture a bigger share of the generative AI boom.

Foxconn is Apple's biggest iPhone supplier, but it is also the leading maker of Nvidia's AI servers, and sources say its capacity to take on Apple as a server customer may be limited.
