TOKYO -- Japanese chipmaking equipment supplier Tokyo Electron said Thursday it sees "double-digit growth" in the chip tools market next year, as artificial intelligence in smartphones and PCs adds to the already bullish demand for advanced processing machines.
Cutting-edge logic chips for data centers and memory chips used for AI smartphones and PCs are both expected to fuel the advanced chip tools market in 2026, said CEO Toshiki Kawai in an online conference. This trend will "contribute to further growth" in the Japanese company's performance, he said.
