TOKYO -- Japan, the U.S. and South Korea will set up a framework in fiscal 2025 for joint research in fields important to economic security, including hydrogen power, to develop advanced technology while minimizing the risk of leaks.

The initiative is expected to encompass four projects: two in the energy field involving hydrogen; computing; and surveillance, positioning and sensors. Japanese Economic Security Minister Minoru Kiuchi will announce the launch soon.
