PALO ALTO, U.S. -- Two U.S. senators sent a letter to TikTok on Tuesday asking the short-video platform to explain why it hired several high-level executives from its China-based parent, ByteDance.

The move followed a report by The Wall Street Journal that ByteDance transferred a string of executives from China to TikTok in the U.S.
