TOKYO -- Donald Trump's trade representatives are increasingly interested in bringing "digital trade issues" into talks with Japan, according to the head of the Washington-based industry group Business Software Alliance.

The U.S. Trade Representative is "very interested" in aligning the tech policies of the two countries, Victoria A. Espinel, CEO of BSA, told Nikkei Asia. That interest was growing, Espinel said, as the two economies have been discussing ways to address Trump's move to impose "reciprocal" tariffs on its trade partners.
