TOKYO -- Vietnam launched the National Data Association, which will advise the nation's leaders on regulations and strategies to develop the data sector while ensuring national security.

The association is led by Vietnam's minister of public security, General Luong Tam Quang, the ministry said on its website on Saturday. Its two deputy chairmen are senior officials from the same ministry.
