TAIPEI -- Top Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has launched its long-awaited premium electric sedan as a challenge to Porsche and at a steep discount to the European model in the world's largest EV market.

The SU7 Ultra, Xiaomi's most high-end car, has cut its retail price to 529,000 yuan ($72,703) from its preorder price of 814,900 yuan a few months ago to show "appreciation" to its customers for their support.
