TOKYO -- Japan's proposed frequencies for airborne telecommunication base stations have been adopted as the global standard, paving the way to the technology becoming commercially feasible as early as fiscal 2025.

The most recent World Radiocommunication Conference, held from November through mid-December in Dubai, agreed to adopt four frequency bands as international standards for airborne base stations.
