TOKYO -- Top Japanese mobile carrier NTT Docomo plans to close around 700, or about 30%, of its retail locations by fiscal 2025 as customers increasingly go online to sign up for new plans, Nikkei has learned.

The company, which has a larger retail network than any other Japanese player, was already planning to shutter around 100 stores by the end of this fiscal year.
