TOKYO -- Rakuten Group's mobile operations continued to weigh on overall earnings last quarter, results released Friday show, but the Japanese e-commerce company has not given up on the business.

Rakuten posted an 82.5 billion yen ($608 million) net loss for the three months through March, a slight improvement on the year, but still a fourth straight year of red ink for that quarter.
