SINGAPORE -- The head of Singapore Telecommunications on Wednesday said the incoming Donald Trump administration in the U.S. could bring "new opportunities" for Southeast Asia's largest telecom, as companies potentially shift their operations or investments into the region.

Southeast Asia has been benefiting from a global supply chain shift as the U.S.-China tensions drive companies to diversify their production and operation bases into the region, which has maintained close business ties with both economies.
