HO CHI MINH CITY -- The sale of low-end smartphones has reached the highest level since 2022 in Vietnam, where the phase-out of 2G has forced millions to buy smartphones for the first time.

Of phones sold in the third quarter, 51% cost $200 or less, made by Xiaomi, Oppo, Samsung and other producers, according to Counterpoint Research, which said this was the highest rate since the first quarter of 2022.
