JAKARTA -- Indonesian state-owned telecommunications company Telekomunikasi Indonesia, or Telkom, said Thursday it will terminate an agreement to acquire shares in AP TeleGuam Holdings from Japanese private equity company Advantage Partners.

A Telkom spokesperson said the decision came after the company was unable to obtain approval from U.S. regulators. The deal was first announced in June 2015. No acquisition price was disclosed. In a stock exchange filing, Telkom said the termination will have no impact on its financial condition.
