TOKYO -- The Global ICT Summit 2016 commenced in Tokyo on Monday, with topics focusing on trends in information and communications technology.
The summit, which is sponsored by The Nikkei and Japan's Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, is a two-day event, and this year's theme is "Digital Transformation -- Changing Business and Changing Manufacturing." Discussion is centered on how companies can respond to the emergence of new technologies, such as the so-called internet of things, a world of web-enabled devices.
