BANGKOK/KUALA LUMPUR -- Airlines in Southeast and East Asia canceled some flights and rerouted many others Wednesday after air space in Pakistan and northwest India was closed to commercial traffic in the wake of New Delhi's overnight military strikes, triggering delays.
It is unclear how long the air space will remain closed or how long flights will be rerouted for. Aircraft-tracking website Flightradar24 showed scores of planes that would usually have flown over Pakistan and northern India diverting via the Red Sea and southern India, adding up to several hours to journey times.
