HONG KONG - Global logistics group DHL has made one of its biggest investments to date, a $400 million upgrade of its Hong Kong cargo handling hub that comes at a time when China's economy is slowing and worldwide supply chains are starting to fragment.

The facility, which the company calls the Central Asia Hub, is located in Hong Kong International Airport and serves as one of three global hubs for DHL, along with Cincinnati in the U.S. and Leipzig in Germany.
