NEW DELHI -- Major global airlines are flocking to the Indian market as its ridership is projected to mark rapid growth on the back of solid economic growth.

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) on Monday said that global passenger traffic in 2025 will reach 4.988 billion riders, a 4% increase from the previous year. India, which has the third-most passengers in the world, is expected to see an average annual increase of 7%.
