Indonesia's first bullet train hits 350 kph as Jokowi takes test ride

Service between Jakarta and Bandung scheduled to begin next month

JAKARTA -- Indonesian President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo on Wednesday went for a spin on the country's new China-backed high-speed train, ahead of the Jakarta-Bandung route's official opening in early October.

The train hit 350 kilometers per hour and earned a positive review from the president.
