TOKYO -- Japan Airlines and ANA Holdings suffered a profit decline in the April-September half despite record revenues, as they grapple with surging fuel costs, geopolitical risks and turmoil at supplier Boeing.
JAL's revenue grew 10% on the year to 901.8 billion yen ($5.9 billion) on Japan's tourism boom and strong demand for business travel. But increased costs led net profit to drop 19% to 49.8 billion yen.
