TOKYO -- Airlines offering flights to and from Japan are facing a fuel shortage caused by streamlining in the country's oil distribution sector, forcing them to give up on adding flights or new routes despite rising travel demand.
The crunch is affecting many airlines. Korean Air Lines and fellow South Korean carrier T'way Air scrapped seasonal flights to Hokkaido's Obihiro Airport, originally scheduled for July and August.
