MANILA -- As much-anticipated efforts to update Manila's main airport move forward, fee hikes on a wide range of services, from parking to VIP treatment, have raised concerns.

Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) is routinely ranked as one of the world's worst aviation hubs. In a push to remedy the situation, the Philippine Department of Transportation in February awarded a privatization deal to New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC), a consortium backed by Philippine conglomerate San Miguel and South Korea's Incheon International Airport Corp.
