MANILA -- The Philippines unveiled new light rail cars on Wednesday that will serve Metro Manila, made using Japanese technology to improve transport capacity with the goal of reducing congestion and pollution.
Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. attended an inauguration ceremony showcasing the new train cars. They will serve the Light Rail Transit Line 1 route connecting the northern and southern halves of the capital region.
