Myanmar Airways launches flights to Vietnam and Dubai

Carrier eyes demand from tourists and returning nationals

Myanmar Airways International is expanding international service, likely with an eye toward tourists and overseas workers.

BANGKOK -- Myanmar Airways International is starting regular international service to Vietnam, the United Arab Emirates and other destinations, seeking to meet demand from both tourists and Myanmar nationals working abroad.

The airline in September began operating round-trip flights between Yangon and Dubai and Hanoi twice a week, and Ho Chi Minh City once a week. Nonstop service to the Thai resort of Phuket is slated to begin soon.
