TOKYO -- Japan will consider allowing ride-hailing services in areas and at times where taxis are difficult to access, while also easing restrictions to allow more cabs on the road, Digital Transformation Minister Taro Kono told Nikkei on Friday.
"We will discuss solutions to the problem of inadequate public transportation and regional mobility" in a new committee for digital administrative reform to be created soon, Kono said.
