Seafood, other Okinawa exports to catch resumed flights to Taiwan

Logistics group Yamato will use cargo holds on China Airlines planes for airfreight

Okinawan officials are promoting Naha Airport as an international freight hub for Asia.

NAHA, Japan -- Japanese logistics company Yamato Transport has teamed with Japan's Okinawa prefecture to ship fresh fish and other goods to Taiwan, using cargo space on passenger flights.

The Yamato Holdings unit will use Taiwan's China Airlines service between Naha, the capital city of Japan's southernmost prefecture, and Taipei that will resume Oct. 25.
