BANGKOK/SINGAPORE -- From flag carriers to budget airlines, Southeast Asia's aviation industry is expanding service to and from India to tap growing tourist traffic from the world's most populous nation.

Singapore Airlines in October announced an expansion of its code-sharing agreement with Air India for the first time since 2010. India is a "key market" for the city-state's flag carrier, Chief Commercial Officer Lee Lik Hsin said in a release.
