BANGKOK -- Thai Airways International said it remains cautious about its business outlook, even though its profit surged in the first quarter of 2025, as the company assesses risks from geopolitical conflicts and global economic uncertainty.
On Friday, Thai Airways reported a net profit of 9.8 billion baht ($296 million) for the January to March period, quadrupling the 2.4 billion baht profit it logged during the same period a year earlier, mainly due to an 11% increase in the number of passengers to 4.33 million in the quarter. Total revenue for the three months increased 12% to 51.6 billion baht.
