Thailand plans nearly $3bn airport build-up to double capacity by 2032

BANGKOK -- Thailand is moving to double passenger capacity across six airports by 2032, spending at least 97 billion baht ($2.86 billion) in anticipation of tourism growth.

The combined annual passenger capacity of two airports serving Bangkok, along with airports serving Phuket, Hat Yai, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, is expected grow to least 246.5 million by 2032, up from 116 million in July, plans seen by Nikkei show.
