TOKYO/HONG KONG -- London has selected a group including Tokyo Metro to run the city's most recently established rail line, replacing a contract held by the Hong Kong operator MTR.

Tokyo Metro is part of a consortium that will operate London's Elizabeth Line, which opened in 2022. This is the first time that Tokyo Metro, which runs subways in the Japanese capital, will be directly involved in operating a rail line overseas.
