SHANGRI-LA, China -- A new high-speed rail line connecting to the Chinese city of Shangri-La in Yunnan province has turned the formerly secluded getaway into a popular attraction for tourists ushering in a shift in the local culture.
On the eve of the Lunar New Year break, the Fuxing high-speed train arrived at a pristine platform of Shangri-La station. Tourists began snapping photos as soon as they got off the trains.
