China to temporarily reduce visa fees 25% to draw tourists

Move seeks to ease cross-border travel, says Foreign Ministry

BEIJING -- The Chinese government said Friday it will temporarily slash fees for inbound travel visas by 25% in a bid to draw a greater number of foreign tourists.

The measure will apply to all of China's overseas embassies starting Monday through Dec. 31, according to China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
