TOKYO -- Faced with soaring vacancies as the COVID-19 pandemic has ground much of Japan's tourism to a halt, one hotel operator decided it was time to learn a new trick. Instead of just catering to people, the hotel in downtown Tokyo would also cater to their best friends -- well at least the ones on four legs.

Inumo Shibakoen, which sits adjacent to Shiba Park, will open next week. The facility features 70 rooms that people can share with their pets and even has an indoor dog park.
