SYDNEY -- Hotels in Australia are waking up to the value of offering their guests a deep and satisfying slumber, tapping into the burgeoning global "sleep tourism" industry catering to people willing to shell out for some soothing shut-eye.

Although hotels are typically associated with rest after a long day of travel or business meetings, they do not always provide a restorative sleep experience for visitors.
