TOKYO -- Japanese real estate developer Mori Trust is gearing up for a surge in the number of foreign tourists visiting Japan in 2024 and predicts their spending will reach record levels as it prepares to open luxury hotels later in the year.
In August, Mori Trust will relaunch the century-old Mampei Hotel in the resort town of Karuizawa after much renovation. In the winter, it will unveil a hotel in Nagasaki on the site of an old monastery, its first hotel in the Kyushu region.
