TOKYO -- Cycling tourism is increasingly drawing attention in Japan as a way to lure more visitors from abroad, as the country sees a steady increase in travelers with easing of the pandemic.

Cycling is popular overseas, especially in Europe and the U.S., and races around the world attract visitors. A string of international races are planned in Japan, along with tours aimed at fans of the sport. Enthusiasm for cycling tourism is building in the industry, which hopes more people will make return trips to Japan and visit new destinations.
