NEW YORK -- The Kitano Hotel New York, a long-established Japanese-owned luxury lodging, reopens on Friday as The Prince Kitano New York, making it operator Seibu Prince Hotels Worldwide's first property in the U.S. city.
Since opening in 1973, The Kitano has served as a lodging destination for Japanese prime ministers and other government and business figures. The building has 150 guest rooms across 18 floors. Located near rail hub Grand Central Terminal, it is also frequented by U.S. and European tourists.
