TOKYO -- Japan's H.I.S. is shifting the emphasis of its hotel business from expansion to increasing room rates through upgraded amenities and popular collaborations.

The company's core travel agency business has yet to see a full recovery in overseas trips amid a weak yen, contributing to the decision to give a premium touch to some of its Henn na Hotels.
