BANGKOK -- Spiritual tourism is proving lucrative in Thailand, where visitors are making pilgrimages to sites in the capital city and beyond or snapping up food and clothes seen as bringing good fortune.

Hindu temple Sri Maha Mariamman in Bangkok was bustling on the first Sunday of this month with visitors eager to see the colorful structure featuring statues of various deities.
